Barbecue Food Detroit Best Barbecue Restaurants
Barbecue Food Detroit - Barbecue restaurants will be classified as one of three different types:• Local or Independently owned • Regional Chain • National Chain There are very few large national chains of barbecue restaurants. However, there are many small to medium size regional chains. Normally if a regional chain is in a geographic area they will have several locations in that geographic area for their restaurants. For our listings we only list the restaurant one time even though there may be five or ten restaurants of that chain in the metropolitan area. Check on the restaurant's web site for specific location information. It is not unusual for the local or independently owned barbecue food restaurant to be located remotely in a rural town outside the major metropolitan area. Not so for the regional chain - their restaurants are normally located in a high traffic area with many other types of restaurants. Many of the local barbecue restaurants also sell food products via their web site. So if you have a great meal while traveling at one of these local barbecue restaurants - order some food via the internet to be shipped to you and enjoy a meal with family and/or friends. Here are some of our barbecue food Detroit recommendations:

Barbecue Food Detroit Red Hot & Blue - Regional - Red Hot & Blue began as a labor of love for Tennessee Congressman (and later Governor) Don Sundquist, two of his former staff members, Wendell Moore and Joel Wood, and me, a network TV correspondent. We wanted a place where we could eat Memphis-style bar-b-que and listen to our favorite tunes.Wendell’s mom came up with the name. The Red Hot & Blue Show, hosted by DJ Dewey Phillips, aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950’s. It introduced the world to Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists like B.B. King, Muddy Waters and Rufus Thomas. From the beginning, the bar-b-que had to be authentic, using hickory logs, low temperatures and long cooking times with only top quality meats and ingredients. We selected all the music and memorabilia ourselves. People started coming from all over the country to eat our bar-b-que and enjoy the blues. Then came the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Today Show; musicians like B.B. King, Isaac Hayes, Rolling Stones’ Ron Wood and Bill Wyman and Stevie Ray Vaughn; athletes like Roger Clemens and Andre Agassi; and celebrities, including Larry King and Rich Little.Next, people asked how to get a Red Hot & Blue in their hometown. Twelve years later, Red Hot & Blue is all over this great country. We hope you’ll love our restaurant as much as we do.
