Barbecue Food Philadelphia
Best Barbecue Restaurants

Barbecue Food Philadelphia - Barbecue restaurants will be classified as one of three different types:

• Local or Independently owned
• Regional Chain
• National Chain

There are very few large national chains of barbecue restaurants. However, there are many small to medium size regional chains. Normally if a regional chain is in a geographic area they will have several locations in that geographic area for their restaurants. For our listings we only list the restaurant one time even though there may be five or ten restaurants of that chain in the metropolitan area.

Check on the restaurant's web site for specific location information. It is not unusual for the local or independently owned barbecue food restaurant to be located remotely in a rural town outside the major metropolitan area. Not so for the regional chain - their restaurants are normally located in a high traffic area with many other types of restaurants. Many of the local barbecue restaurants also sell food products via their web site. So if you have a great meal while traveling at one of these local barbecue restaurants - order some food via the internet to be shipped to you and enjoy a meal with family and/or friends. Famous Dave's - Regional Chain - Few restaurants in history have achieved as much recognition in a few short years as Famous Dave's! Dave’s road to fame began with a strong hankerin’ for fine barbecue and a stronger desire to make the finest slow-smoked barbecue folks had ever tasted. He visited rib shacks, roadside joints, every hole-in-the-wall or fancy pants supper club he could, all in search of the most succulent meats, savory seasonings and lipsmackin’ sauces around. After 25 years of tastin’ and cookin’, Dave’s barbecue just plain knocked the socks off his family and friends. That’s when Dave decided he had to share. He wanted to give all the folks a chance to dig into the best barbecue ever. And in a place as down-home fun and frolicsome as the shacks and clubs he went a callin’ on all those years.Folks like you made Dave "Famous". His barbecue and restaurants have been showered in more awards than he has walls to hang ‘em on. Over a hundred for best ribs, best new restaurant, best music, best take-out and best barbecue joint. Heck, we didn’t even have ta’ bribe the judges.Fair and square, Famous Dave’s offers great barbecue and fun. But that’s for you to judge, ‘cause after all, you’re our best critics. Come on in, we’ll treat y’all right.

Sweet Lucy's - Local Restaurant - In 2003, Brooke and Jim Higgins opened Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse in the Northeast Section of Philadelphia, close to where Brooke grew up and where they now reside.  They shopped for a smoker and discovered one outfitted with a trailer.  They began the business in the trailer and within a year, the business was so successful, they had to look for expanded space to handle the popular demand.    Construction for the 60-seat restaurant began in October 2004, and opened February 2005. Sweet Lucy's sit-down restaurant is Non Smoking, Family Friendly, and can accomodate groups up to 60 people.  You may BYOB.
