Gourmet Barbecue Sauce
For The Barbecue Enthusiast

Gourmet Barbecue Sauce has become a very popular and "in" food product. At fairs and barbecue cook-offs that are being held all over the US, teams are competing with their products for the blue ribbons signifying "Best In Show". Winning a barbecue cook-off can be a huge jump start to a marketing campaign for their food product. After all, everyone is going to want to sample the gourmet barbecue sauce that wins these competitions. Don't you agree?

Many of the sauces being marketed are hand made in small batches in small kitchens. Today, it is fairly easy to get custom packaging labels printed which can be affixed to the bottle containing the special sauce. Each product will have its own secret recipe or twist and be made with several often mysterious specialty items and promises such as these examples:

gourmet barbecue sauce

All Natural Ingredients
No Preservatives
No Cholesterol
Locally Grown Ingredients
Handcrafted
Autographed Signed Jars

Products are often named after the creator. Other names are more marketing driven to come up with asomething dramatic or catchy. Or name it after the farm where the ingredients are grown. The new sauces are being sold under brand names such as:

Maurice's Blend
Mama Scott's
Lisa's
Ol' Hippie
Robert Rothschild Farm
Sporty Men's Collection

As you can see none of the brands are household brand names. Neither Kraft, Heinz nor any of the large food processing companies are the innovators bring the new products to market. Most of the new smaller manufacturers only have very limited local distribution of their products usually in their geographic areas. However, that should not limit your ability to purchase and try these new brands. Most of them are marketing and selling their products on the internet directly themselves or through distributors.A quick search of the internet should provide you with several from whom to choose.

It is an exciting time for the barbecue enthusiasts. And it becomes a fun experience to use one of these new sauces at a cookout for friends. A little bit of status for the barbecuer of course and it certainly becomes a discussion topic at the cookout.
